As CEO of CMIT Solutions, Roger Lewis spearheads the widely recognized IT support franchise with its growth across the nation, adding to its over 220 locations. Before joining CMIT Solutions, Lewis co-founded AllianceTech, a meeting and events technology provider of onsite solutions. There, he led sales and marketing, taking the business from zero to $12 million-plus in bookings. In 2015, industry leader Cvent took notice and acquired the company, adding onsite solutions to its product portfolio. Under Cvent, Lewis continued to propel the business forward with onsite solutions proving it to be one of the fastest growing product lines of the company. Prior to AllianceTech, Lewis co-founded an IT services company and successfully grew it to $8 million in annual sales before selling it to an organization out of New York.

[2:35] Josh welcomes Roger to Franchise Euphoria.
[3:59] Roger explains that he started his business career with IBM out of college, but shortly after a move to Austin, TX, prompted an opportunity with CMIT Solutions.
[5:41] Roger shares what the CMIT business concept is and what their goals are.
[6:53] In Roger’s opinion, most CMIT franchisees start out of a home office and they can move into a brick and mortar location, but it isn’t necessary.
[9:29] While people often assume that in order to be a franchisee candidate at CMIT, you have to have a strong IT background, but Roger explains that isn’t the case.
[12:13] Originally, the “CM” in the name of the business stood for “Computer Moms”, but it has since transitioned to “Computer Monitoring.”
[16:14] One of the biggest factors that led to CMIT having extra work to do when the pandemic broke out was that with so many people adapting to a work from home lifestyle, they found that their home systems weren’t properly protected.
[19:38] Roger weighs in on which virtual meeting platforms he believes are the best.
[23:20] In Roger’s opinion, the reason cyber security has become such a big threat is because small businesses are being recognized for not having quality protection and are therefore getting targeted.
